Homeopathy is a system of alternative medicine created in 1796 by Samuel Hahnemann, based on his doctrine of like cures like (similia similibus curentur), a claim that a substance that causes the symptoms of a disease in healthy people would cure similar symptoms in sick people. Homeopathy is an alternative medical practice in which extremely dilute amounts of certain natural substances are used to treat various ailments.
Homeopathy is based on rigorous dilutions and mixing, called successions. The dilution level is printed on the bottle of medicine. A typical homeopathic dilution is 30X, where the X represents 10. So, one part toxin (such as the aforementioned poison ivy) is mixed with 10 parts water or alcohol. The mix is shaken; one part of this mix is added to 10 parts of water or alcohol again; and the whole process is repeated 30 times.
The final dilution is one molecule of medicine in 10 to the 30th power (1030) of molecules of solution — or 1 in a million trillion trillion. At this dilution level you'd need to drink 8,000 gallons of water to get one molecule of the medicine — physically possible but implausible.
Other homeopathic solutions are 30C, which represents 100 to the 30th power (10030). There's not enough water in the solar system to accommodate this dilution.
Hahnemann didn't realize this because he developed his theory before the concept in chemistry of the mole and Avogadro constant, which defines the number of particles in any given amount of a substance. So, Hahnemann and his followers could do the mechanical actions of dilution, but unbeknownst to them, they were diluting the medicine right out of the solution.
The course:
BHMS or Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery is an undergraduate academic degree course which covers medical knowledge of the homeopathic system. BHMS course is of 5½ year duration which includes an internship.
The basic requirement for the eligibility to get the admission to BHMS programme is qualifying the 10+2 examination with 50% marks. The candidate must have the physics, chemistry and biology in 12th class.
Admission to BHMS is through NEET UG Ranking and some colleges and universities in certain states offer this course through other entrance examinations

A BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) graduate is eligible to be called as a doctor and eligible to do the private practice. A homeopathic practitioner may look the career as a medical representative or as a doctor in private or government hospital.The professionals in this field can work in companies those deal with the homeopathic preparations. Meantime they can work in homeopathic colleges as a professor or the researcher.

MD Homeopathy:
MD Homeopathy is a post graduate study in Homeopathy.The candidates should have passed the BHMS (direct/graded) degree or its equivalent declared there to by the central council of Homoeopathy. Those who have completed the prescribed internship before the date of interview for allotment alone are eligible for admission subject to the condition that they should produce the medical council registration certificate at the time for interview for allotment. Candidates who have passed the final year examination with more than three chances are not eligible for admission. Recognition of the college and course by the university as well as central council of homoeopathy must be essential for under graduate level.
Certificate Course in Pharmacy (Homeo)
This is one year programme to help candidates to work as Homeo Medicine pharmacist. Eligibility for the course is ONE year.
